Tūmanako Consultants is in service to Te Ao Māori and to Aotearoa more widely through contributing to a nation where Te Ao Pākehā and Te Ao Māori are working in synergy. This requires our nation to value Te Ao Māori and to understand our past, so that we can build the Aotearoa of tomorrow together.

For non-Māori organisations
We work with non-Māori organisations who want to better support Māori aspirations and work more authentically in Aotearoa. Our services include:
- Mātai – a process for discovering, identifying and planning the changes which will help your organisation to better support Māori aspirations, and to work more authentically in Aotearoa. This involves interviews, a review of key documents, a practical report and a marae-based wānanga to plan and support implementation of the agreed changes.
- Kaihāpai – providing one-on-one or group supervision to provide a safe place to discuss, reflect on and improve your work with Māori.
- Wānanga series - An ongoing, marae-based learning journey for organisations who want to explore more deeply their role in building the Aotearoa of tomorrow.
For Māori organisations
We work with Māori organisations through:
- Kaitaunaki - working with Māori trusts and Māori Authorities to rethink how funding and other resources can best support whānau aspirations. The aim is to be tikanga and kaupapa-led and also robust in terms of transparency and compliance
- Kaihāpai – providing one-on-one or group supervision for Māori kaimahi, particularly those working within non-Māori organisations, to provide a safe space to discuss and reflect on the challenges of their mahi.
- Wānanga - These are dedicated wānanga spaces for different kaupapa, including marae-based learning for rangatahi Māori and peer learning and collaboration for kaupapa Māori organisations. These wānanga are often provided at no cost and are funded through the paid work of Tūmanako and / or philanthropic funding.
